Ok, finally I've found a time to fix my mate desktop.
make-keyring doesn't work, fixing /usr/local/etc/pam.d/gdm, and removing
suid bit from mate-keyring-daemon binary will make it work. But there's
a better solution:

Make sure that you've unchecked all mate-keyring daemons from
System->Preferences->Startup Application, and gnome-keyring daemons must
be checked.
It will use gnome-keyring for mate session.

xdg settings, in case you need it.
I believe that mate 1.8 has some kind of keyring hack included.
