X.org did not get installed

[Open Slate Project]

The last two times I installed x11/gnome2 I did not have X. Is that normal? I use:

make -DBATCH install clean

Could the batch mode cause that? Since this was a fresh 8.2 I assumed the gnome2 port would pull in X.
