policykit and bash dependency

Hi,

Does policykit really require bash? It seems to work fine without
and the only bash script I could find is polkit-bash-completion.sh in
(prefix)/etc/profile.d, but that's just a login script to set up tab
completion for polkit plus FreeBSD doesn't have profile.d directories
like on Linux so this file is (by default) never executed anywhere even
if bash is the login shell.

So can this dependency be removed or am I missing something?
