hald constantly eating cpu

Jan Henrik Sylvester me at janh.de

After booting, top always shows about 4% user and 10% system without any
process having any (W)CPU. If I stop hald, everything goes down to 0, if
I start hald again after that, the cpu usage goes up again.

Every related port is up to date (as of portsnap Apr-21 20:41 CEST).

Any idea how to fix the problem?

Since I have read about hald problems related to moused, I will state my
mouse config, although my configuration seems different:
   InputDevice "Synaptics_Touchpad" "CorePointer"
   InputDevice "Mouse0" "SendCoreEvents"
   Identifier "Mouse0"
   Driver "mouse"
   Option "Protocol" "Auto"
   Option "Device" "/dev/sysmouse"
   Identifier "Synaptics_Touchpad"
   Driver "synaptics"
   Option "Device" "/dev/psm0"
   Option "Protocol" "psm"

Removing the usb mouse does not make a difference.

hald or mouse related processes (no activity in top):
  2357 ?? Ss 0:00.87 /usr/sbin/moused -p /dev/ums0 -t auto -I
  2666 ?? Ss 0:00.52 /usr/local/sbin/hald
  2667 ?? I 0:00.02 hald-runner

  2691 ?? S 0:00.11 hald-addon-storage: /dev/acd0
