xfce4 issues with gnome 2.14 libs

Hi,

after updating the gnome libraries to 2.14 (I'm actually running xfce),
I noticed two things:
* switching to the console (Ctrl-Alt-F1) works, but switching back locks
Xorg or xfce: all windows reappear but remain blank and a lot of
processes end up in the STOP state (a.o. xfce4-panel, but not Xorg itself)
* when trying to terminate the session using the 'off' button from the
panel, the screen fades to white and the system seems to freeze
(Ctrl-Alt-F1 does not work, reset needed)

I also updated FreeBSD from 6.1-RC1 to 6.1-RC2 at the same time, but I
don't expect that these changes are causing the above issues.  Before
the gnome upgrade, switching and the 'off' button worked fine.
