undefined reference to `g_intern_static_string'

While trying to build the current development gnome, rhythmbox-0.9.4.1
fails with:

/usr/X11R6/lib/libnautilus-burn.so: undefined reference to 
`g_intern_static_string'

This is based on a cvsup on April 26, early afternoon eastern time,
and after a "portupgrade -fa".

Any ideas on why this is failing, and what to do?
