Hi,

im running Gnome 2.12 on FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE. i havent updated anything in
awhile and im not doing anything fancy.

My panel suddenly got messed up--the icons faded away and got streaky.
The screen i was on was usable but i couldnt move to another desktop or
launch anything from the top or bottom panel.

So i ran gdm-restart and now i cant even log in, i get a message with
"the configuration file contains an invalid command line for the login dialog,
so running the defulat command. Please fix your configuration". But then when i
log in it still doesnt work, "There was an error starting the GNOME settings
daemon...The last error message was: EOF from child process." and i cant log
in, i can only launch the Failsafe x-term.

How do i fix this? My Gnome apps are uptodate and i havent changed anything.

thanks!

Jen
