goffice build failure

After several attempts to upgrade gnumeric to current version (1.6.0) only to run afoul of
goffice, having read the faqs, searched the error database and all the steps recommended, I am
at a loss how to proceed. I'm attaching copies of the goffice config.log and a buildlog
generated via "make |&tee" in the /usr/ports/devel/goffice directory. I have completed the
gnome upgrade (via the recommended gnome_upgrade.sh shell script) and have deleted and completely
reinstalled libgsf and libgsf-gnome.

Output of uname -a: FreeBSD aragorn.rgmhome.net 5.4-STABLE FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE #3: Sat Oct 1 13:41:49 MDT 2005 root at aragorn.rgmhome.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/ARAGORN i386

If you require additional information, I'll be happy to supply it.

Help, please.

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GOFFICE_CFLAGS
and GOFFICE_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

===>  Script "configure" failed unexpectedly.
Please run the gnomelogalyzer, available from
"http://www.freebsd.org/gnome/gnomelogalyzer.sh", which will diagnose the
problem and suggest a solution. If - and only if - the gnomelogalyzer cannot
solve the problem, report the build failure to the FreeBSD GNOME team at
gnome at FreeBSD.org, and attach (a)
"/usr/ports/devel/goffice/work/goffice-0.1.1/config.log", (b) the output of
the failure of the make command, and (c) the gnomelogalyzer output. Also, it
might be a good idea to provide an overview of all packages installed on your
system (i.e. an `ls /var/db/pkg`).
