build of cairo port fails, freebsd 6.0

    Hello,
    I'm trying to get an unrelated port, transcode, to install. One of it's 
dependencies is graphics/cairo which i can not get to install. Configure is 
failing, claiming freetype and fontconfig are not installed. Both are indeed 
installed. Have i found a bug. The attached tarball contains the 
cairo/config.log, gnomalizer and a typescript output as well as a package 
listing. I hope it is of some use.
