Yep, have a look under /apps/nautilus/preferences.  There's a lot of
juicy tidbits in there.  Also, under /apps/nautilus/desktop, you can
turn off certain desktop icons like home, computer, and trash (or rename
them if you so desire).  All of this makes excellent fodder for the FAQ.
