Already tried that.  Doesn't help.

Just looked. Same files in my ~/.mozilla/..../extensions directory as
are in the one in root. Although the directories are a little
confusing. I get the impression from diff as though they are hard links
yet the files in them are owned by the user for each. Actually, I
really don't know what diff is trying to tell me:

server# diff -c3p ~/.mozilla/firefox/default.dmz/extensions
~sean/.mozilla/firefox/default.c1q/extensions
Common subdirectories:
/root/.mozilla/firefox/default.dmz/extensions/{641d8d09-7dda-4850-8228-ac0ab65e2ac9} and /home/sean/.mozilla/firefox/default.c1q/extensions/{641d8d09-7dda-4850-8228-ac0ab65e2ac9}
Common subdirectories:
/root/.mozilla/firefox/default.dmz/extensions/{972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd} and /home/sean/.mozilla/firefox/default.c1q/extensions/{972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd}
