gnome-panel didn't find .desktop-files from openoffice

curious if i'm alone with that problem:

openoffice installes his .desktop-files in ~/-gnome2/vfolders/applications
but they didn't appear in the gnome-menu.

after adding <ItemDir>~/.gnome2/vfolders/applications/</ItemDir> to
applications-all-users.vfolder-info they will be found.
so is there something wrong in my gnome installation or is this entry
simply missing?
