GDM Problem

Your entries should look like:

gdm:*:92:92::0:0:GNOME Display Manager:/nonexistent:/usr/sbin/nologin

gdm:*:92:

And /usr/X11R6/share/gnome/gdm/* should be owned by gdm:gdm or
root:gdm.  After verifying that, you'll have to kill -9 all gdm
processes, and restart them.  Be sure to read GDM's pkg-message on the
proper way to start GDM.
