sh ./gnome_upgrade.sh fails with gstreamer-plugin errors

Hello Adam,
      That build upgrade has completed, however despite the message at the end congratulating me on upgrading, there are problems:

1] Gnome takes almost three minutes to start after running "startx" from console

2] Where you'd normally have the (new) "Computer" icon, there is now *both* the "Computer" and the old "Start Here" icon overlayed over each other. Both titles are there, and appear muddled together.
