Evolution 1.4 problems under gnome2.6... undefined symbol "e_book_get_config_database"

Hi.

I am experiencing this problem on three different systems after upgrading to gnome2.6 (the one listed below, amd64, and my home i386 machine).

When I run evolution I get the following. Any/all suggesting gratefully appreciated. Thanks ever so much for your time and efforts.
