KDE is also preparing a new release KDE 3.1.2 which hopefully will arrive
in the ports tree before 5.1. 

A reason may be, that the KDE-FreeBSD team is a bit larger at the moment.

Martin, since I am hanging around on the same IRC channel, I can also offer
to look at your PRs, if the gnome people are busy.
