git fetch --all from cgit-beta.freebsd.org stopped working

The last commit I see is 38dddf6 (Tue Dec 1 15:53:12 2020 +0000).
Since then it always fails.

	git fetch --all -v

shows lots and lots of lines like

 	= [up to date]                ... -> ...

https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd seems to be up to date. I am
mirroring https://cgit-beta.freebsd.org/src.git. What is the
magic incantation for getting this working again?
