Is anything being done to un-break partition names?

Are there any efforts outstanding to do this for 8.0?  Or did it get
done and I missed it?

Perhaps randi@ will take a look; she's been working on nearby parts of
sysinstall for a while.  Adding her to CC since I don't know if she
reads geom at .
