Sounds like a nice backup plan if gmirror can't work out the drive sizes 
natively, as per the paragraph below.

Assuming you specify both drives during the procedure. If you're trying 
to preserve data on one of the drives to be mirrored then there'd be a 
problem wouldn't there?

So is gvinum now to be considered End Of Maintenance/Life?
