Ok, so I'm afraid you cannot disconnect single partition from it.
This is one of the reasons I prefer mirroring every partition separetly.
Actually changing configuration from whole-disk-mirror to
per-partition-mirrors is possible even remotly, but it's quite risky, so
I won't recommend it...
Not sure what else can I suggest.
If those panics are reproducable, you can risk removing one disk from
the mirror and setting dump partition on its 'b' partition, but I'm
guessing it is not the answer you were looking for.
