Hi there,
Has the below issue been resolved ? (Since Apr 10, 2016)
Because I encountered the exact same issue on May 4th 2016,
encountered the message here ↓
http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.os.freebsd.devel.gecko/5613
so accessed the original message here -> https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-gecko/2016-April/006226.html
and it seems to have been resolved.
* exact same platform (FreeBSD 10.3R as shown below)
* did Firefox pkg update ( ver. 45 -> 46 )
* encountered the same error message when I tried to launch Firefox after update
--
% firefox &
/usr/local/lib/libgtk-3.so.0: Undefined symbol "g_param_spec_get_name_quark"
and Firefox doesn't launch.
--
% uname -a [~]
FreeBSD <myHostName> 10.3-RELEASE FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE #0 r297264: Fri Mar 25 02:10:02 UTC 2016 root at releng1.nyi.freebsd.org:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64
--
<Solution (How it was solved on my env )>
* Shared Library env update by (root) :
# /etc/rc.d/ldconfig restart
-> No effect.
* checked around GTK3 env -> Not solved at first
* did all the pkg upgrade -> solved (Firefox to be launched again)
# pkg upgrade
--
Sorry not digging the issue deeper but when on " # pkg upgrade " ,
I noticed below. Is this related ... ??
Mmm, Firefox has no relation to WebKit2 so probably not, isn't it ... ?
New packages to be INSTALLED:
:
:
webkit2-gtk3: 2.8.5_2
:
:
Cheers
