Just BUFSZ_P2 enabled doesn't give enough confidence. Also try to
- comment out EXTRA_PATCHES in audio/alsa-plugins/Makefile
- switch to non-default alsa-plugin (e.g. jack or pulse) in ~/.asoundrc
