Anyway this is gonna need some time: as the problem is not always triggered, I
have to rollback the VM, upgrade the system, save state and try, try and try
again until I enter the deadlock once more.

I did a test though: while the machine is locked, I put a breakpoint in
bufbdflush (the only function changed in that diff) and see it never gets
reached.
Is this an indication that this patch won't solve or possibly it would have
made a difference earlier?
