I'm pretty sure I haven't seen this issue on 10.3-RELEASE and now I fail to
reproduce it on 11.1-PRERELEASE, etc., all on the same hardware as before.

Working versions:

DEBUG kernel config is GENERIC plus
options         INVARIANTS
options         INVARIANT_SUPPORT
options         WITNESS
options         WITNESS_SKIPSPIN
options         DEBUG_LOCKS
options         DEBUG_VFS_LOCKS

I've had to remove DIAGNOSTIC for performance reasons.

With 11.1-RELEASE upcoming I consider this problem solved, although I fail to
spot the changes in svn log so far.
