What happened with the GlusterFS port?

The situation with clustered / object filesystems on FreeBSD is rather dismal, to be honest.  The same is true of most enterprise filestore / cloud integration code out there now.  Amazon AWS compatible APIs?  Linux-only.   Swift/Openstack?  Linux.  CEPH?  Linux.  GlusterFS?  Linux.  I’ve looked at all of them, and found for the most part just vestiges of some FreeBSD porting effort that has since rotted (there are a few #ifdefs for FreeBSD in CEPH, but apparently it was only partially ported about 3 years ago and then not maintained anymore).
