HAST + ZFS self healing? Hot spares?

What you're describing here is not what I asked about, activating a hot spare drive without bringing down the HAST resource.

You're describing taking the entire array offline while you perform work on it. Which is fine in a lot of cases, but not exactly what I'd call HA. :-)
