Please try the latest linux-c7-alsa-plugins-oss.  The port now rebuilds the
plugin with patches from audio/alsa-plugins.  Also try openal with alsa backend
to make sure that it continues to work.  Does surround sound work by the way? 
With both openal->alsa->oss and openal->oss?
