I know, it's just that there's a lot of ports to be updated:

And those custom settings will need to be backed out after upgrading to e.g.
7.3, so it's a double work.

7.3 doesn't really matter, as it will be released soon anyway, but adding those
entries to linux.mk will make upgrading to 6.9 and 7.4 quicker.
