FYI.  I updated the stage1 and stage3 linux_dist and linux_base ports. 
The linux_dist ports install a complete Gentoo environment into which 
you can chroot and even install packages from the Gentoo portage. The 
linux_base ports can be used as an alternative to the Fedore 
distributions but these are not fully supported, i.e. they are supposed 
to work but nothing is guarantied. The stage2 ports have been removed 
because no stage2 tarball distributions are shipped for 2008.0.
