            Bug ID: 245646
Summary: dumpdev description in rc.conf(5) doesn't say which
                    devices are suitable
           Product: Documentation
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Manual Pages
          Assignee: bugs at FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: pauamma at gundo.com
                CC: doc at FreeBSD.org

"If the value of this variable is "AUTO", the first suitable swap device listed
in /etc/fstab will be used as dump device." This, however, doesn't say which
devices are suitable and which aren't. The conclusion of the IRC discussion
that started this was that it's unclear what devices are suitable short of
reading dumpon source code, but that GELI devices are definitely *un*suitable,
and the variable description should reflect that, at least.
