Just a heads-up, I've turned off the cron-kicked builds for now, while
investigating and fixing an impressive amount of bitrot in the web build
stuff, prompted by an inquiry from Peter about why stale web files are
not being automatically cleaned up.

It's because of my recent changes to the webupdate and webupdate.wrapper
scripts, which otherwise would have been working properly, but looking
deeper into the failure case uncovered a rabbit hole.

Commits to doc/ will not be automatically reflected on the website until
further notice.
