No, I ran it as myself.  To run it as www:

$ sudo su -m www rlog /usr/websites/develop.example.org/reposito
ry/configuration//vhosts.conf.sample,v 
/usr/websites/develop.freshports.org/repository/configuration
//.cvsignore,v
rlog: No such file or directory.

Interesting... I guess Apache needs something added to the path.
