Hi Lev,

Just my story with SDCARD Reader. 

I own a HP Elitebook 2170p. It crashed also with any Release i had used on it. 

Adding 

hw.sdhci.quirk_set="1"
hw.sdhci.quirk_clear="1"
hw.sdhci.enable_msi="0"

to /boot/device.hints solved the problem and the reader is usable, with GENERIC
Kernel.
