You can do something like
gpart delete -i 2 da0
gpart resize -s 512k -i 1 da0
gpart add -t freebsd-swap da0
gpart bootcode -p /boot/gptzfsboot -i 1 da0
gpart list da0
will show the swap partition last but it will still be /dev/da0p2
Practice on a md0 device if you want to test this.
truncate -s 20G file
mdconfig -a -t vnode -f file
gpart create -s GPT md0
etc.
