should MINIMAL boot?

Hi,

Tried booting MINIMAL on last weekend's current, on both UFS and ZFS
hosts in VirtualBox. Neither could find its boot drive. Before I dive
deeper and file a bug, wanted to ask:

Should a MINIMAL kernel boot and run?

If not, I won't waste my time.
