unknown option "VT_MAXWINDOWS"

I tried today the new vt console in CURRENT and followed the steps described in the
manpage. Trying to compile a kernel with 

options VT_MAXWINDOWS=10

issues an error:

unknown option "VT_MAXWINDOWS"

What is wrong?
