Can you try 10.0-ALPHA5?  I have VM images here:

    http://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/snapshots/VM-IMAGES/10.0-BETA1/amd64/20131007/

You should be able to just attach the vmdk to a Vbox VM.
