-128 errors after compiling kernel with clang tot (was: two issues after upgrading to a more up-to-date HEAD)

i was able to solve the issue. it seems clang tot was responsible for the
problem. i reverted back to compiling the kernel with gcc and the issue
dissapeared. i haven't tried with the clang revision that ships with world. i
think this problem only occurs with a more recent version of clang though.

ps: i've added freebsd-toolchain to CC. maybe some of the freebsd clang people
could confirm the issues with clang tot i was seeing.
