Elsa MicroLink 56k USB is not picked up by umodem

Just dug out my sturdy old Elsa modem, and the new USB stack does not  
recognize it anymore. Is that intentional, or did the device IDs just  
dropped between the cracks on the conversion to the new USB stack?
