That worked, thanks.

I noticed another issue, though:

fk at TP51 ~ $sudo kldload if_cdce
kldload: can't load if_cdce: No such file or directory
fk at TP51 ~ $dmesg | tail -1
KLD if_cdce.ko: depends on usb - not available
