in today's current, i have this much discussed problem while building on

FreeBSD ran.psg.com 8.0-BETA1 FreeBSD 8.0-BETA1 #5: Mon Jul 13 06:42:59
    UTC 2009 root at ran.psg.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/RAN  i386

is there a hack out of the corner?
