Ok, I've installed the patch and have been running with it for a few
hours.  The obvious consumers of the packet mode seem to work so far,
i.e. `C-s' works in Emacs, `C-q quoted-char' works in Emacs, ^V^S and
^V^Q work fine in vi, and the same tests inside or outside screen work.
