unable to recieve on em 82542 w/o promisc

I have found the problem, it is a shared code bug, I am just waiting
now to let the shared code engineer make a formal code change and
then I will integrate it into HEAD.

If you or anyone else is in urgent need email me and I can tell you
have to fix it temporarily.
