[Regression] snd_emu10k1 doesn't work after GCC 4.2 upgrade

Yes, there are some plans to do it before 7.0-RELEASE.

BTW, I was unable to repeat your problem with my cards (i386 world +
kernel built with gcc42).
Are you using i386 or amd64 kernel?
