FWIW, I've just finished compiling KDE 3.5.4 from scratch in a vmware
with a clean 7-CURRENT installed from the latest snapshot iso image
(FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT-200609 #0: Sun Sep 3 20:30:50 UTC 2006) and I can
confirm that KDE works just fine with the latest base-system openssl.
