Yes, you should be able to do DMA33 with a 40-pin cable, but you're
almost certainly going to be better off replacing it with a newer one.
The FreeBSD ATA driver code tends to be conservative in these cases
because some systems/CD-ROM-like devices will fail to do UDMA33 reliably...
