bdb errors

[Beech Rintoul]

I followed updating and nuked pkgdb.db and INDEX.db as listed. Now when I try 
and rebuild it I'm getting the following error:

stargate# pkgdb -F
/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/i386-freebsd7/bdb.so: 
Undefined symbol "db_version_4002"

Any suggestions on where to go from here? I'm dead in the water as far as 
portupgrade goes. Ports tree and index are up to date. Any help would be 
appreciated.
