Driver compilation for amd64

It's not exactly an answer to your questions, but you could set up a 
virtual machine with (for example) qemu, which supports emulating AMD64 
machine on an i386. FreeBSD-AMD64 version could be installed on it, and 
you could compile whatever you want.
