xorg 6.9.0 mem leak

On Mon, Jan 30, 2006 at 01:49:43PM -0800 I heard the voice of
Randy Bush, and lo! it spake thus:

This may not actually be new-malloc() related.  I currently see:

which are certainly larger than I recall them generally being.  And
this is a Jan 7 -CURRENT, before the malloc changes, still on Xorg
6.8.2.
