Ok, just reinstalled xorg-server with the patch, and unfortunatly this patch 
did nothing for me. 
Same symptoms. I even checked to se if the patch was really applied and it 
was.
I wish I knew where to start with this problem, but I can't do anything during 
that freeze.

I'm also starting to hate write_caching... Since I lived without dri before, 
It's not really critical, but being able to get more than 80fps in glxgears 
and being able to use an OpenGL app/screensaver would be nice :)
